So I bought two Canon HF G60's, sent one back and seriously considered returning the other. The fact is that, despite the picture, this camera does not have infrared / night vision. This is very strange, because every picture shows that when you flip the LCD screen, infrared / night vision appears. let me tell you friends he is not there. This is very disappointing because, believe it or not, this is one of the reasons I decided to buy the Canon HF G60. Having solved the infrared/night vision issue, I'm mostly happy with the camera. The larger sensor offers higher image quality (color and sharpness) than the 1/2.3 sensor in previous models. However, the IQ is quite noticeable, so much so that I decided to keep one of the cameras. an improvement over other Canon handhelds - again, there's no infrared/night vision. This annoys me as I've waited over a month to post this review (after notifying the seller that the description is incorrect) and it still shows the infrared/night vision switch. - Two memory slots with top loading. They look a bit small. My Sony Tough cards are very difficult to insert into the slots. To record in 4k at 150MB you need a real 299MB capture card. I tried to use a Sony Tough 150mbs writing card but got speed errors. sooo You should set aside extra money to buy 299MB capture cards. Keep in mind. they're expensive - I won't go into detail, but the controls are a bit unwieldy. I've never been a big fan of Canon's menu screens. I wish they had given you a navigation bar. - With high quality, video files are very large, but you probably knew that! - Microphone. I still need to experiment a bit, but the native mic picked up a lot of wind noise. I thought I had a filter. but maybe i did something wrong. If you use an external MC, it has to be passive (someone please leave me a comment if this isn't correct!). The Canon HF G60 does not have an XLR microphone input. In general, the native microphone worked fine. very typical - ergonomics. not bad for a pocket computer. It's also relatively easy. no problems - lcd screen - nice and bright! - stabilization. others have complained, but I think this works surprisingly well for stability. It doesn't look like a DJI gimbal, but feels quite dynamic. You need to make adjustments. I didn't like the preset color which is in the default settings. It turned out to be unsaturated and not very pleasant. I chose a bright setting (which was surprisingly hard to find) which increased saturation and made the footage more realistic. — Professional or consumer camera? It's a kind of tweeter. The average consumer might not be able to set up the camera to take advantage of it (I mean if you shoot at 35MB instead of 150MB you lose most of the benefit). Pros, on the other hand, might not like the menu setup and general lack of settings. I'm sure there are more, but I think I found most of the things that caught my eye pretty quickly. Final Verdict. I give the camera 3 stars. I'm deducting a full star for the lack of infrared/night vision and another for 1) menu settings 2) cramped memory card slots 3) overall it's good at a lot of things but necessarily good at all. I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't need night vision.
