Old house with dark kitchen shelves and deep/tall closed shelves in bathroom. At the bottom of each lamp is a stationary magnetic disc. Ideal for sticking to metal. I decided when I moved I wanted to take them with me PLUS I didn't want to permanently install them in the lacquered wood cabinets (or using the screws/molly) that came with each light. There is a metal adhesive disc that can be stuck on objects, and the metal disc on the light will be magnetized on it. I used command strips (for images). That way, without too much fuss, I can just take the strips out of the closet and take them to my next home or use them. I glued them to the top or sides of the cabinets (depending on what I wanted to light up best). They work GREAT! The lighting lasts quite a long time and with a 4-shelf cabinet with a glass front it looks very nice. I bought about 28 of these lights and friends have put them in their dark closets (you know, things you have in the back that you normally can't see or find). They use a lot of AAA batteries (3 for each bulb) but as said, they perform like a champ with normal use. I really should buy rabbit broth. By the way, I've never had one broken or not working. Have fun. They can also be good for dark hallways and closets. I have longer lanterns (same use) that I found in one of my closets at Revain.
