I will not use it interchangeably with the DMC 310 brand thread, but I made a quick comparison and will use it. Perhaps more often than the DMC brand. The yarn itself is darker/matte but for black I love it. I can see that this allows me to work with more texture contrast in my projects. I did a tension comparison with 3 threads and one. The strands came apart well and I couldn't break 3 strands which is great. The only thread I could break on either die and this die was harder for me to break than the DMC die.
