The stand works well to hold the laptop at eye level and my neck is grateful now that I've been using it for about a month. I used a cardboard box but it looked very unprofessional and the laptop sometimes got hot causing the fans to spin. The main problem of tipping over the laptop is solved by tilting the stand forward at an angle, allowing gravity to act like a worm. Preventing the rollover issue that others have mentioned. This works particularly well on the 2018 15-inch MacBook Pro model. Maybe 16 inches is too big for this stand, even if it's tilted forward? If you plan on typing and using a touchpad, this stand isn't for you. If you have a separate keyboard and mouse, this stand will work. I hope this helps someone find the right stand for you.
