I bought this lamp to bring some light into the lobby at night. The place I wanted more light doesn't have an outlet so I figured a battery powered lightbulb would work. Pros: This lamp is attractive, well made, not heavy and works as advertised. The on button starts a six hour timer and magically the lamp can be turned on and off at the same time every day. One major downside: this little lamp has a big appetite for batteries. The industrial-style lamp produces a very bright, almost blinding light that softens as the battery drains. And the batteries run out pretty quickly. We have good quality new batteries: I think they last 10 days. If I knew how to change it, I would turn it on for a maximum of 2 hours a day. And so I just turn it on and off myself. Nice lamp but looks expensive in the long run due to the battery requirement.
