Review on SUUNTO Smartwatch Matte Black Titanium by Joseph Scalea

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Cute watch, terrible battery, no daily tracker: just short workouts.

I wanted to fall in love but the battery completely spoils the impression. If you turn off all features, GPS, notifications, weather, EVERYTHING, you can get through a day. 16 hours. No sleep tracking as you NEED to charge every night. No fitness classes, because when you activate an activity, e.g. B. Running, the GPS will turn on and the battery will be dead within 1-2 hours. When the watch goes into sleep mode, the workout ends. Step counting only really works during fitness sessions, it's very inconsistent the rest of the day. I walked around my yard wiggling my wrist with every step just to check: I counted to 1000 and the tracker counted 340. Hard pass. Dear Suunto: The watch looks great, but the experience needs help. I will keep my watch and update my review if the firmware can be updated to improve step accuracy and battery life. But from the looks of it, I won't be able to use any of the cool features I bought the watch for for a day. I could also buy an fbi*t that lasts 6 days and does the same thing as I have to shut everything down on my Suunto 7 to keep it alive. Or mine is broken. Who knows. I've had the watch for over a year now and use it every day. The battery still needs to be charged every 48 hours, but that doesn't bother me. The step count still isn't as generous as Fitbit's, but once you're in "normal" mode you'll know if your overall trend is up or down. They added basketball and a few other activities that I really enjoy. But most of my use cases are to walk around during work calls. I'm not sure where Suunto finds so many people who have 9 hours every day to go mountaineering, but I'm just an ordinary person trying to stay healthy and walk 12-15,000 steps indoors and out every day to go around. Works perfectly. Strong enough. The Weather app and Find My Phone button are great.
