I had this 17" Dell Ultrasharp monitor at my work place while doing research at university. At a resolution of 1024 x 768, it displays a full web page (left to right) without having to move your head across the screen. Received a larger 19" Ultrasharp but sent it back to our IT engineer. It wasn't nearly as sharp and crisp as the 17-inch. Although the 19" has better specs, I kept adjusting it and never got it right. Please return the 17" monitor. Another beauty of this monitor and its larger counterparts is the USB ports that attach to on the side of the monitor itself. This is very handy when using flash drives as you don't have to reach down and stick them in the tower, just plug them into the side of the monitor.Although sometimes shown differently above, this is the old style 4 by 3. Not the newer widescreen model 16 by 9. The moral of this is that whatever monitor you buy, play with it first to see how it performs for your particular vision Not everyone sees monitor the same. What is crisp and clear to one may not be acceptable to another. For me, the 17" Ultrasharp with convenient USB ports is my favorite monitor.
