You need a workspace away from the kitchen table. It fits on my lap in my chair, plenty of leg room, very sturdy. I work 10 hour shifts so I had to place a rolled up blanket on a ledge to protect my hand when using the keyboard. Another thing is that it was comfortable. I want it to tilt and snap. But it's easy to fix. The top is smooth for the mouse to slide, but I used a mouse pad. I've been using it for a few weeks now and it's holding up perfectly. It holds up well so it doesn't get in the way. i would buy again
