Not as good as Sony original

Pros: Really easy to install. Great that they include a tool for removing old ear pads. in. They make excellent inexpensive replacement ear pads. Disadvantages: They let significantly more noise through. I tested it with some noisy 3D printer fans running in the background. With the new passive cushions there is noticeably more noise. With noise cancellation turned on, background noise was even more noticeable with these pillows compared to the original Sony pillows. This is my biggest complaint as one of the most important things I expect from my headphones is reliable noise cancellation. Neutral: They are firmer and fuller than original Sony headphones. Depending on how you like your fit, you may or may not like it. They make the headphones a little tighter and the interior is a little smaller than the originals, so your ears touch the cushion inside a little more. Original Sony pillows are softer, giving you more bounce when you lay down. I find Sony's softer pillows a little more comfortable, with a little less pressure on my head. I think the softness helps add passive noise cancellation and overall noise cancellation with active noise cancellation on. Conclusion: A good replacement for the price. They actually look more like 1000XM4 pads but make more noise for some reason. If your current ear pads are toasty on your 1000XM3, they're not bad, but they're not as good as the originals, and a little less comfortable, in my opinion.
