What they are for. The finish is almost too smooth which makes them look cheap up close, but they look good on the street. Adjusts the flag with minimal effort. While I believe they are real wood, they don't feel hand finished or hand sanded, if that makes any sense. They have a single attachment point that actually allows the frame to level itself, which is nice. The last thing you want is your loved one's flags hanging in disarray. I would suggest getting felt pads for the corners so they don't form walls. If your plan is to use them on a mantala or in a bookshelf I would suggest getting one with a stepped bottom to provide more stability. I wasn't impressed with how they looked when left freestanding. Just my two cents
