I almost died from it. I was just going to make an upside down pineapple cake but ended up with third degree burns. I used this unit at a typical Saturday night bake with friends. It was a good day and I thought it would be great to bake something today. But at the beginning of the mixing process, the mixer started sparking and smoke came out of the mixer. The smell of burning plastic invaded my senses and I nearly choked on the noxious fumes. Cake batter lay unfinished on my kitchen table. Now there will be one less upside down pineapple pie in the world.
