This really is an excellent palm rest in terms of comfort. It is thick and dense, offers a very smooth cushion, and has very low compression memory. The coating doesn't absorb sweat and washes easily, while the non-slip bottom stays in place. However, the people who complained about the smell weren't kidding. This thing stinks when you first open it. Also an unpleasant organic smell, like forgotten and spoiled coffee with cream (my son compared it to agar). I've used Febreze and other deodorants both on and around it with no success; Even when I managed to block out the smell, it still gave me a severe headache. THE SMELL DISAPPEARS. I've had this stay for a few weeks and I no longer smell it even when I hold it to my face and even 24 hours after purchase the smell has decreased significantly. Verdict: This is the most comfortable palm rest I've ever used, but if you buy one, plan on airing it for a significant amount of time.
