I'm so happy with my purchase! In the photos, this item appeared to have a slightly purple to pink hue. Luckily I took the risk and ordered Taffy Pink anyway. Basically, it's pink or light pink gum. The packaging was nice - it had a cardboard envelope wrapped around it, which also had a cute story about how the company started on the back. So it's definitely a gift if you want to send the order to someone else directly. The silicone is thick and quite durable despite being silicone. The raised baffles are very strong and will not move unless pushed hard. The matte/palette part is flexible but quite thick so it doesn't feel cheap or inferior at all. Oils can stain it. We're a Korean-Mexican family, so we recently made a kimchi dish. The spoon we used to stir the kimchi dish left a pale orange stain on the dish rack. It's fairly light, although not very noticeable. So my guess is that turmeric, chipotle chili, or any red chili oil can also cause light staining on lighter silicone mats. But that's the nature of silicone, not a lack of product quality. Finally, I saw another reviewer mention that the mat is too short. For me the length could have been longer but it still works because I can fit the top of the utensil between the dividers instead of moving the utensil up to fit the handle between the dividers. Dividers still fit kitchen spoons and spatulas.
