I bought this watch because I need a backlit dial. I've had other watches with illuminated dials, but they're dying out over time. I have owned this watch for several years now and the light continues to work perfectly. I have to agree with other reviewers that it's really an inconvenience that these watches often change from 12 to 24 hours on their own. I agree that this should be set once during the initial setup of the watch. It has been suggested that this occurs when squatting in sports, but I'm not a sports fan and struggle with this problem every day. If they could fix one thing, this watch would be perfect. Another problem is the resin band. It doesn't breathe, leaving your wrist sweaty, itchy, peeling, and even smelly. Sometimes I have to take off my watch at home to give my wrist a rest. I've never had this problem with other watches. Despite these issues, I still prefer this watch to any other I've had. It's inexpensive and durable enough for everyday use. The dial backlight is non-negotiable for me, and this is the only watch I've tried that keeps the backlight on for more than a year. The timer feature is another feature that I didn't expect to be needed as much as it is now.
