set DEFINITELY for older kids or adults. I liked that there was a video on YouTube showing the exact model so I could link to it for visual help. The tools provided weren't the best, and I didn't have any tape to route the wiring (though luckily I had my own). I almost finished and tested the music box and was a bit shocked that it was Jingle Bells. Although I won't play it often, the fact that it was a Christmas carol put me off as the set isn't about Christmas. All in all it was a really fun pastime and the end result was pretty cool. The instructions were also easy to understand
