Wow, very useful and helpful! Tips for installation in each locker.

Looking back on my high school locker experience, I remember the bottom of my locker was a huge pile of papers, books, my backpack, coat and boots covered in snow. Locker (probably in that order). My 10 year old son started high school last week and was given his own full size locker. I wanted to find something for him that would make his dressing room better than mine. I'm a little surprised they haven't come up with smarter locker ideas in the last 20+ years. However, this hanging closet organizer is fantastic. Three shelves offer space in the pockets on the left for notebooks, folders, books and lots of accessories. He's thin enough to fit a jacket or backpack on the left, but in the winter he may need to slide his backpack onto the top bunk to make room for his heavy winter coat. In width, that's about half the width of an average closet, if that makes sense. It looks very sharp and the thick canvas and metal brackets that hold it in place are very strong. The first time we put it in his locker, I couldn't put it in properly. There are metal brackets on the organizer that can be attached to the top shelf of the locker. But in my son's locker, the coat hook comes out of the bottom center of the top shelf, and due to the orientation of the hooks, the organizer was flattened too far to the right, making it unstable and partially crushing the top shelf of the organizer. . There was no way to rotate or remove the hook; Trust me I tried! Then I realized I could hang metal hangers on the middle hooks and the rightmost hooks. This worked GREAT except the organizer now hung a few inches further meaning there wasn't much room under the organizer. THEN I noticed that there are small holes on the sides of the organizer. I pulled the metal brackets up from their highest position and inserted them into the other holes below. It fits snugly, but the hangers slide through the other holes. The middle hook and the right hook aren't the same height, but that doesn't matter because you can thread one hanger through a higher hole than the other. (Because of this design feature, if you only had one coat hook, you could use one coat hanger on the coat hook and another on the top shelf and adjust the coat hangers accordingly.) With a little effort, I got an organizer. perfectly straight, quiet and adjusted so that there is enough space under the organizer for boots or other large items. After adjusting the position of the metal temples, there was now a few inches more fabric on each side above the temples, but we just folded them over. If that bothers you, two medium-sized clips* keep excess fabric to the sides of the organizer and out of the way. the entire bottom shelf, making it a 2 shelf organizer instead of 3. Just note that you could shorten the top shelf enough to have 3 shelves, only the top one would be much shorter in height than the bottom two. Another note: if the organizer keeps slipping off the hangers (I think a reviewer mentioned this), try adding small clips** directly under the hangers to help the fabric fit even tighter to the hangers. The organizer I received had two small clips that held the fabric tightly against the hangers. This one was so tight they definitely weren't needed, but they may have been added because the fabric slides off hangers for some people. As in years past, it takes a minute or two to set up, but after that it's set for another year of organized, trouble-free bliss (probably not what he'd call it, but it's true!).
