The band is made from a fairly stiff but slightly stretchy material that is well suited for physically active work situations. The only complaint I had was that the strap has a square cut on both ends, making it difficult to thread through the buckle. So sometimes I had to use the hot knife attachment on my soldering iron to trim the end into a slightly rounded point. This prevents any wear and tear and greatly improves the usability of the belt.
