My daughter has outgrown her high chair and we needed a spare seat for her to use at the coffee table when she does her homework or snacks. This little stool is just the right height for a toddler and perfect for our needs, but I'm not sure it would be comfortable for an adult. It was easy to put together, and the gray is darker, more neutral, but not as harsh as black. The stitching is pretty straight and the stool looks good. I've seen several comments/questions about using this stool as a step stool to get in and out of a loft bed and I have reservations about the idea. . The vinyl padding is fairly slick and I would be concerned that socks (or even bare feet) could easily slip over it. Also, the legs are pushed back a bit from the edges and I find that quite often the chair starts tipping when my daughter sits too close to the edge. It's only 9 inches off the floor so it doesn't matter when it hits the floor, but I would be concerned that an elderly person could get hurt if they don't place their foot squarely in the center of the stool. For our purposes, however, it is ideal. If you need a small stool for your child to sit at a low table, great!
