This was NOT a defect. I returned because I had upgraded my purchase to one that already had a bottle. The entire Fitly line is well made and well thought out. Customer service is excellent, they strive to make their customers satisfied and happy. Unfortunately I was not able to explain the reason for the return during the return process.
