I have a Casio Edifice ECB500D-1A watch. This is the watch I wear every time I go out. Of course, this is a hybrid tracksuit, a kind of watch. However, the watch is too expensive to wear outdoors and too chic to wear anything more than casual. So I was looking for an all black, discreet, military grade, solar powered, high performance watch that I can use outdoors. I saw the G-Shock GX-56BB Blackout series and was hooked. It had the features I wanted and more. ** GX-56BB IS NOT MULTIPLE 6! ** CONSTRUCTION: The GX-56BB is made of resin with a hard matte black finish. The dial window is made of mineral. The digital display is gold. This combination gives the watch a stealth-like military look. The GX-56BB is big and well built. It has a thick 17.50mm body constructed from a new three-layer structure composed of soft and hard Alpha Gel Urethane. Part of this structure can be seen on the inside edges under the solar panels. Alpha GEL makes watches shock absorbing, vibration isolating and heat dissipating. This 3-layer construction is amazing and makes the GX-56BB durable and virtually indestructible. I once saw a magazine that showed each structural layer in more detail and in 3D. As a bonus, the watch is 200 meters (650+ feet) water resistant, magnetic, and smudge resistant. That being said, I've always wanted a dirt-resistant watch, so I wanted the Casio G-Shock Mudmaster. However, I got this watch with this feature for less than half the price. Also, to add strength and indestructibility to this watch, I would recommend purchasing a wire bull bar. The front bar gives the watch extra protection and style. FEATURES: As I mentioned above, the GX-56BBs are not 6-band multi-range speakers, which is the case with the similar but more expensive Japanese version (GXW-56BB-1JF). This means that the GX-56BB requires the user to set the time manually. With Multiband 6, the time is set automatically using radio waves from the watch's built-in antenna. First of all, one of the coolest features of this watch is its reliable solar power. This is a rare feature for a sports watch. The power saving mode is an added bonus to this feature and extends its lifespan. Users will know when this feature is enabled when they see "PS" just below the date on the display. An example of a power saving feature is that if the power saving mode is selected, the watch will turn off if left in the dark for a long period of time. The power saving mode is so sensitive that the watch will turn off if left under the wearer's sleeve for a long period of time. The energy saving function can be controlled. For example, put your watch face down when not in use! Now when the watch is exposed to light, the watch will restore power and all settings will remain the same. Next there is an anti-smudge feature. I decided to test this watch's dirt resistance while I was in Myrtle Beach. While in the water I buried the watch in the wet sand for a few minutes. After that I took the watch out and it was completely covered with dirty sand. I submerged it in water and the watch was still fine. Not to mention that the watch looked like it had no elements inside. OTHER FEATURES: GX-56BB has world time function, 31 time zones, 48 cities and UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). Another feature is Daylight Saving Time, which can be turned on and off. Another interesting feature of the watch is the electroluminescent backlight with afterglow. Backlight color, e.g. B. a combination of blue and green on the display. In addition to the backlight, the GX-56BB has an auto backlight function. This function can be switched on/off. When the auto backlight is on, the display should face your face and the backlight will turn on. Users will know when this auto-lighting feature is activated because "A.EL" is displayed just above the seconds. GX-566BB has four daily alarms and a snooze function. Then there is a button operation tone that can be toggled on/off and an hourly time signal that can be toggled on/off. The GX-56BB also features a fully automatic calendar, countdown timer, stopwatch and 12/24 time format. CONCLUSION: The GX-566BB is an all-rounder and therefore a must-have, ESPECIALLY for outdoor use. In addition to the price, build, and features I have mentioned for this watch, the buyer is definitely getting a bargain.
