I would not reccomend this for people with mice, rats, and critters that can climb. I originally got this for my mice so I can have them in different places around the house without worrying about them getting lost. My mice can very easily climb the mesh on the sides. I can't see the mesh very well in the pictures so I didn't know if it would be grippable or not. Not rating it bad because it's partly my fault for not knowing or looking into it more. Instead of this product, I would reccomend something with a plastic top covering so that they can't escape.
