Review on Tim Holtz Idea-ology Metal Corners: 12-Pack 1 Inch Antique Finishes - TH92789 by Dawn Fischer

At first glance, these corners are beautiful. They have a vintage embossed finish that offers an eye-catching angle. They are glued on, not nailed, which is great if you enjoy working with epoxy, but not great if you prefer the authentic look of hammered nails (individual preference). There are no holes for nails, nails are not included. However, this product has several disadvantages: * It is not a true "corner" that covers the entire corner of the box. It's a stamped and bent piece of sheet metal, leaving a V-groove in the corner and an open corner side. * The angle is pretty sharp and sharp - so much so that I wouldn't use it. again.* It's not one color, but three slightly different colors that approximate antique matte silver, gold, and brass. This means that if you want to design all 8 corners of the box the same color, you will need two sets of these corners. Although this is mentioned in the *secondary* description, this information is not included in the main description. The color difference is very slight (you can see it in the packaging photo if you look closely).* The price of this item has increased by approximately 40% in a week. Since the boxes have 8 corners, I'm wondering why they don't put those 8 or 16 pieces in a pack and sell them in one color. This 12 corner 3 color set seems to be either for projects that only use 4 corners or to sell 2 packs at a time. I bought 2 packs of these and was glad I did. If it weren't for me I wouldn't appreciate that this important information is missing from the main description and that I have to order a second pack to complete my project. General consensus: Attractive but poor quality and SHARP (oops) corners requiring purchase of 2 sets of corners in a box. As stamped and bent sheet metal I find that overpriced. I will choose a slightly higher quality item for my next order. Beautiful, but for a good box with "safe" corners - not the best option.
