Review on πŸ”‹ Stainless BB1012 Borosilicate Glass Carafe by Ricky Habbani

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I love these blue brew glasses!

I've been using this type of insulated borosilicate glass for decades. I bought these to add to my Bodum Pavina goggle set. The Blue Brew version (12 ounces) is nearly identical in height, width, and shape, but the glass is slightly thicker, resulting in a heavier glass with a thicker rim. Pros: Beautiful and functional. They keep liquids hot or cold for a long time and don't sweat, so you don't need coasters. They go in the dishwasher and microwave. They don't fog up between the inner and outer layers and have a simple glass stopper at the bottom, not the ugly silicone "valve" that Bodum started out using. Best of all, they cost about $3 less per jar than Bodum. Cons: their large girth is uncomfortable for small hands; Adults with arthritis are uncomfortable to grip. Glasses also take up a lot of space in the dishwasher. Compared to Bodum, Blue Brew's thicker, heavier glass looks a little less elegant, especially around the rim, but it's not noticeable unless you're using both brands.
