Space wise his backpack is pretty good. The main compartment is quite spacious. The middle compartment can get a little tight at times when I put all my other stuff in it, but that's ok. I will be using this backpack for high school and it is not as big as my previous backpack but I think I will be ok. The material used for this seems to be one of the harder fabrics as opposed to the Jansport backpacks which are softer to the touch. . This backpack appears to be waterproof but I don't think it is. I originally had the true navy blue but didn't like it so I got a refund and bought the black one. True dark blue in well lit areas is slightly lighter than pictured. I will include a comparison photo in the review. Overall I am happy with my backpack. Maybe I'll update that when I actually go to school.
