I have a high performance gaming laptop model that is particularly prone to overheating due to poor ventilation. I didn't want to spend 100+ on a cooling pad after spending a lot on a laptop so I took a chance. I like it. 1. It makes noise. It is what it is. But it's not crazy, it's not obnoxious, and it's not terribly annoying - and chances are you're playing the game with headphones if you're running the fans at maximum speed (loudest).2. The light can be turned off completely if you don't like disco. I don't mind lights, they're cute.3. The 6 level feature is good. I usually run my fans at 3, I only turn them up when I'm gaming for hours. I believe 2 fans is efficient and I no longer have overheating issues. I've read several articles that mention that a small number of large fans is more efficient than a few small fans. The height-adjustable stand is great. He can go pretty high.
