Purchased Wilton Fountain for Sweet 16 Party

I purchased this 2012 Wilton Chocolate Pro 3 Tier Fountain for my daughter's Sweet 16 Party. (I thought I posted the review at the time and wanted to update the review, but I don't see it here.) Anyhow, the fountain was relatively easy to assemble, use, and clean after use. I will say we had a bit of trouble getting "levels" but the fountain worked perfectly and made a great presentation! I used both fountain chocolate and butter chips to keep them thin enough for the river to flow without any real issues. Just make sure there is always enough chocolate in the base and stir the chocolate in the base to make sure there is nothing left. caught up. For my daughter's 16th party I had everything from lots of fresh fruit, crackers, marshmallows, rice granola treats, pretzels and vanilla wafers. I used the fountain again on Christmas Eve the same year (again no real problems other than pumping) and again on Christmas Eve last year (2013) and again no problems to speak of, always a great success and everyone always loved it. come out from behind the well! Well my problem with this fountain and the reason I only gave it 3 stars is that although I have had it for almost 2 years now I have only used this fountain 3 times. always properly cleaned, put back in the box and put away until the next event. I pulled it out yesterday for my daughter's 18th birthday after purchasing all the dip products, prepping everything, melting the chocolate and reheating the base as instructed. and the fountain didn't work at all! Engine is clogged! Made an awful buzz and the auger wouldn't turn even when we took it apart, cleaned it and tried again. I wasted a lot of chocolate and a couple of teenagers were very disappointed and waited over an hour and a half to finally tell them there was no fountain. :-( In the end I just refilled the base with chocolate, set the base to preheat to keep the chocolate warm and told them to use a spoon to coat the items in chocolate. The problem with this scenario (along with the obvious one) was that the base wasn't warm afterwards either, this chocolate naturally started to harden and was wasted too So again although I've had it for 2 years I've only used this product 3 times and totally stopped working it's pretty ridiculous worked great once i got to use it 3 times so i gave it 3 stars probably wouldn't buy it again although i thought as little as it was used it would last years and years hold instead of just three times.
