I've read the reviews and most of them are valid but I had a specific set of needs and it filled the bill at a reasonable price. The reviewers were right - this mug doesn't fit in a car cup holder, I didn't care. This mug really doesn't keep your hot coffee hot for more than an hour, which was fine with me. I spilled a 12 ounce cup of freshly brewed coffee on my new couch! It's gone everywhere! I decided that a squat, heavy mug with a lid would be the only way to enjoy coffee while sitting on a freshly cleaned couch to avoid repeating the performance. The lid isn't perfect, it will still leak, but it gives me the ability to not spill the whole cup of coffee. I don't drink it in my car so it shouldn't fit in a cup holder. I drink coffee immediately after brewing, while it's still hot. And it can be washed in the dishwasher (which a tevis or other coffee mug cannot). So I'm happy with that.
