Bought to light up the area of the table where I have my desktop. This replaces another that was fairly typical. I bought this for various reasons. 1. solid base (+), 2. three different lighting modes (+), four different brightness settings (+), dimming options (+), information center containing time, date and indoor temperature with backlight. (-) As mentioned, battery placement was EXTREMELY tricky and despite several attempts, the info center didn't work even though the backlight worked. When I contacted the company, I was told that they needed photos (still or moving) to support my claim. Unable to do this due to lack of equipment and knowledge, I had to make the decision to either contact Revain for a refund or have the shortage issue resolved. Not wanting to play the delivery/waiting game, the decision was made to live with the scarcity. Overall a good lamp, the pros outweigh the cons, but I wouldn't buy it again. The placement of the touch sensors is also noteworthy and slightly annoying. From left to right: mode, light/backlight performance, brightness and brightness. Because it's sensitive, it's easy to switch from power mode to mode with your fingers. Perhaps if the sensors were a different color, this could have been avoided.
