Wash before wearing

Update: After washing and wearing, the hat looks very worn and loses its structure. Will buy another hat Bought for an active child to play outside. Things I liked: fit, lining, warmth and style. Things I didn't like: The chemical smell and the chunky logo label. The child said it smelled and itched during the fitting. Washed and dried. no smell There are no complaints of itching, but now it's looking a little worn.
