Not impressed! Terrible design!

This stand looks amazing in the pictures and has great reviews. It won't be one of them. I was skeptical about the long legs of this stand but bought it anyway because it seemed so versatile, but it really isn't. To use it with other devices, you literally have to remove the bracket and replace it with another. (Three device holders are included.) Good luck, because doing this requires using the smallest screw ever made and tightening it with a tool that doesn't fit or work with the screw. (I ended up using a ballpoint pen, with little success.) The upper arm really only moves left or right, and the vertical height is useless unless you want to be on the floor to look at your tablet . My bed is medium height, with a medium sized mattress (no fancy fluffy mattress pads), and at max height it's *almost* the right height to see in bed. I have no idea what you would do if your bed was higher and I have no idea why anyone would need it much lower. (I assume it works when sitting on a chair at a lower height.) However, the upper arm isn't long enough to hold the device in front of my face when I'm lying in bed, as shown in the picture . Instead it only goes part way and I have to turn my head to see it. It stinks because the only reason I bought it was so I don't have to turn my head and strain my neck to look at my tablet while reading or watching a show in bed. I'll try to change its position, but I have no doubt it will work. The part that holds the tray seems to move well, but it's stiff and requires two hands to hold it in place. It held my Kindle in place without moving, so that's the only point I give it. But then I have to cross that point because the spring mechanism that holds my Kindle tablet presses directly on the volume and power buttons. (I left mine in the case and moved the mount so it holds the back of the case, not the tablet itself.) Another issue is that after you're done with the tablet and ready to go to bed, a quick and easy way to knock him off his head. There are no wheels, the upper arm is restricted in movement and fixed so you basically have to slide the entire stand away from the bed to fall asleep without fear of either sitting down or getting your tablet dirty or getting out of bed directly on the bed podium. But wait, it gets better. The assembly is a joke. Not only is the screw that holds part of the tablet in place the smallest in the world, with a tool that doesn't work to screw it in, but every single one. Lonely. Part of this simply designed stand was fun to put together. (I've just assembled over 50 items before, which was very easy!) The leg pieces went in pretty easily, which gave me a false sense of hope that it would be easy. But back then, the center bar wouldn't screw in - and the tool that came with it wasn't even close to the right size (it was gigantic!). I was about to give up after several tries (using a different allen wrench from a completely different product) when the screw finally found its sweet spot and was tightened. Then it's just 3 steps to make you think you're clean. Wait. The extension that holds the tray needs to be connected to the center support, but the design is terrible (and hard to describe, so I won't bother). You have to loosen a large knob and *easily* tighten a small screw, just enough to get the arm into the rack, but not so much that one or both screws come out. Too tight and it won't slip; too loose and everything flies. I've lost fasteners in the B-pillar hole at least four times, and each time I had to turn the whole thing upside down to get them out. I'll be ready for bed! ;) So, all in all, if you don't mind spending a stupid amount of time assembling this thoughtlessly designed product, don't mind craning your neck to look at your tablet and you will If you don't mind preventing it completely from getting out of bed, then this is the product for you!
