I am not a fanatic of any of the competing companies (CANON, NIKON) because I use both cameras! for reporting I use the Canon EOS 1D Mark III with its 10 fps, and for portrait and landscape I use the Nikon D800 with its 36 megapixels, crazy detail and wide dynamic range. Canon EOS 7D is a good device in the amateur segment, but it is sharpened purely for reporting, absolutely without any claim to the artistry of the picture. At first glance, the working ISO is pretty high, but only for reportage, since ISO 3200 completely kills the picture (dynamic range and detail) Imagine that you are shooting a report in low light conditions at ISO about 3200 at 8 fps, respectively, you repeatedly the exposure will change, and with these shooting parameters in post-processing, you will not be able to stretch the shadows in any way, since a high ISO value simply nullifies the dynamic range. The example is, of course, rather rough, but for beginner photographers it is quite understandable. My subjective opinion is a good reportage camera of a purely amateur level.
