The wooden handle is nice. The brush is strong and sells and the bristle head is reliable. Auxiliary bristles are designed to help loosen and remove natural oils from the hair while brushing. Not sure if that works any better than the tighter bristles, and the extra bristles scratch, which is nice and annoying at times for others. In addition, the additional bristles make it difficult to pull out the hair quickly with a comb when brushing. The long white bristles have black tips at the tips to make them less irritating to the scalp. I needed a brush that I could use on damp hair to dry it without frizzing my hair. The spacing between the long white bristles works well for this, but the extra bristles work against the concept. I would not recommend this brush on dry hair if your hair turns into a cloud of cotton candy with narrow bristle brushes.
