For years I had two things that worked against me: I sleep on my stomach and I have TMJ. I got to the point with my TMJ that I didn't have any pressure on my jaw or it would be stiff and painful when I woke up. I ordered this pillow from Revain a few years ago and figured the notch in the middle wouldn't put any pressure on my jaw. Spring. it was. So I'm back to square one. So I just lay my head on the bottom of the pillow and a folded sheet under my neck where there is nothing under my jaw. About a month ago I started waking up with pain in the upper part of my spine and lumps under my shoulder blades. My husband said it was because I slept on my stomach and bent my neck. I had to train myself to sleep on my side and I wanted to be able to use this pillow, but for that I needed a HOLE in the middle - no fabric, no padding, nothing. So I took a pair of scissors and cut a full hole in the middle. The next week was hard sleeping on my side, but I managed. Now I FINALLY have no more neck pain and I don't wake up with a stiff jaw. NOW I can say I love this pillow and it suits me. Of course it's lost some of its toughness over the years but it actually works in my favor as I can crush it and make sure the hole is where it should be so nothing is under my jaw joints. question
