I wasn't sure our cats would like this as they only used sisal rope in the cat tower. First they sniffed, then they moved away. As soon as I put a few pinches of their favorite catnip on it, they started playing with it. One thing you need to know is that the sides are adjustable, but there are screws that hold the sides in place. So if you want to change the position you need a little tool they give you to change it. The zigzags on the sides are for attaching pom poms or jingle toys. I chose not to attach it just because I didn't want to hear the bell ringing in the middle of the night when they were happy to play. This ramp is very easy to assemble and took less than 5 minutes to assemble. Our boy in the picture above is not small at all (about 16 pounds) and fits him perfectly when I lay him flat. Although sisal seems irreplaceable since it is drilled directly into the wood itself, it appears to be very durable. Only time will tell but I don't think I need to worry about replacing the sisal rope. If your cats would rather scratch sisal rope than cardboard, this is for you and your cats.
