Bought this to use from time to time when I couldn't/couldn't lug my T3i around; It also replaces my SD1400is (2010). So far I'm happy with the quality and feature richness of this camera! Pros: Good image quality Fast focusing Wi-Fi/NFC capability Smooth/great HD quality Cons: The body is quite light, I like/used to do heavier shots. I miss the cool aluminum body of the SD1400is. No USB cable is supplied - I'm sure you may already have a spare mini USB (barrel) cable, but that would be nice. sometimes be a bit grainy. Canon has opted for a new Digic 4+ processor for the ELPH 340 - think of it as the golden mean between Digic 4 and 5, but tweaked. I didn't have any speed or latency issues. The camera responds instantly every time. I'll report back on battery life after a day of photography. In any case, I would recommend buying a backup battery just in case. The initial setup was quick and painless. I'd love it if they added the ability to put copyright information in-camera, but it can be done in Photoshop with a single click - it would still be nice to have. Wi-Fi was surprisingly fast and I had no trouble setting it up on my router, phone, or PC. This camera also features NFC for even easier connection. In my test videos, I was particularly impressed by the stability of the image - it will be a great companion for blogging. There will be some graininess on the screen during playback, but remember this is for verification purposes. After importing it to my computer, the HD video looked great. *IMPORTANT* You must try the Canon CW app along with the camera. This app features a remote shutter, ability to share/view pictures, remote shutdown and more! Even if you don't plan to use it, give it a try. I used it with an Android app. There is a slight delay, but it's not annoying. Overall I am happy with my purchase and plan to use this for a long time. I will upload photos to the customer photo section as soon as possible! *Update* I've added some pictures to the client area. I really enjoy working with this camera.
