Review on 🐶 Hurtta Extreme Winter Coat for Dogs by Jessica Dubois

After our last "polar vortex" cold snap in January, when the actual air temperature in Minnesota was -56F, I realized I needed a very warm coat for our "grandfather". The Duke is a Vizsla with a very thin, fine coat and a strict silhouette. Hurtta Extreme Warmer has so many great features and so many ways to customize the fit for your dog! From the webbing on the back legs to keep the jacket down so the wind doesn't tear it off (they snap on and off so your dog doesn't have to put his leg through the hole), to the elasticated drawstring at the back for length adjustment and the wonderful chest panel that covers the entire chest and then fixed with an adjustable buckle, this is a well designed coat. Although it feels thin, the reflective material keeps your dog warm! We tried on the inside of the coat and asked Duke to put it on for a few minutes. After taking off the inside of the coat felt very warm so you know when it's active and outside it says EXTREMELY WARM! (Even with our extreme winter conditions). Excellent quality, adjustable fit and thoughtful details: slits in the back for a leash or harness (although my daughter didn't use them properly in the photo), reflective foil on the inside of the jacket reflects the dog's body heat, waterproof. The surface material is soft and comfortable. The jersey hood keeps the dog's neck warm, pulls up to protect the ears, and getting dressed is super easy - just slip the coat around the dog's neck, then zip, adjust, buckle up and out! Measure according to the Hurtta size chart. If you need a really warm coat, buy the Hurtta EXTREME WARMER - you won't regret it!
