This is a beautiful decorative storage box, but definitely not suitable for storing toys. I tried using it as one and it was a complete failure. The box itself is quite strong but if pressure is applied to either side it will buckle and the child will fall forward into the box. Once this happens, less and less pressure is required on the seat before it locks into place. I really like that there are multiple ways to open the lid, but it's flimsy. You can't put any weight on it or it will bend immediately. It's also impossible to keep it open if you leave one of the long sides attached. The only way to keep it open is to lean it against a wall. I eventually gave up using it as a toy box and I use it as a storage box for braces and sports injury related items. It works really well for this as I rarely play around with it. If I need to climb in, I just remove the entire lid. Make sure you don't store anything on top as the lid is flimsy. It's also important to note that the sides are very flexible so the ends where the handles are will always kink no matter how much or how little you store in them as they aren't held together with velcro. Overall a good box, especially considering the price. I would buy but only for a decorative storage box.
