Excellent all round mount

First of all, if you get this mount you'll get rid of the drywall anchors because they're junk. Second, invest in an impact driver and cordless drill combo (if you plan on installing more things into the wall and in general). Go to Milwaukee (I personally buy Ryobi and Metabo HPT power tools since I don't have to pay a Milwaukee bounty to do what I need to do around the house). Installation is very easy as long as you either screw in the studs or use proper drywall anchors. I would recommend drywall anchors and EZ anchor bolts (50lb rated). Do not use a screwdriver to screw in drywall anchors according to the package directions. I've hammered many of these drywall anchors with an impact wrench with no problem. I personally hate the Philips screws that come with the EZ Anchor or in general. I choose Spax or GRK Torx screws (you can buy them in the big orange stores) with an appropriate impact wrench. Torx screws allow driving an impact wrench without camming/slipping/screw head loosening. Of course, removing a drywall anchor leaves a giant hole, but if you know how to patch drywall, that's no problem. I prefer Hansen) and another electronic type (I prefer Franklin). The magnet finds drywall screws in the wall (no need to drill the screw head) and the electronics finds the edges of the stud, allowing you to center the screw hole when drilling into the stud. For this mount I stuck one end (T) into the post with a 2 1/2 torx screw and the other end used a drywall anchor with a 1 1/2 torx screw so I know this mount is going nowhere ( I'm using this for Xbox One) mounted behind the TV (attached to the wall with a bracket drilled into the studs). I have an Xbox power supply and an external HD with 3M strips. The controller mounts are drilled into drywall using plastic anchors (no need for drywall/anchor bolts as the controllers are lightweight).

Pros
  • Installs in a minute or two with a Phillips screwdriver. No drilling required for standard drywall!
Cons
  • Not sure
