Disappointed with the dies

I've always had trouble cutting with quilt disc blades. Even though I use rulers and suction cups, I always get a not-so-straight line. I was hoping this product would be the answer. I've tried using the cutting inserts (2) by increasing the layers of fabric, but I still can't successfully cut through every layer.
