Larger than expected. Bought for two week day trips in Colorado where weather changes are unexpected. It contained clothes for both of us. It even had room for a water bag. It has lots and lots of straps with buckles which were a little annoying until I realized these straps can be very useful for attaching sleeping bags and other essentials for more serious hiking. Lots of hidden zip pockets. Very good quality for this money.
