Includes a protective sleeve that stays on your iPad Air at all times. It includes bumpers and is pretty durable. There's also an outer shell that folds up like a laptop and contains the keyboard. The protective case and outer shell attaches to each other with magnets, which is nice. You need to connect the iPad and the keyboard together. Then the keyboard is turned on and off with a special button in the upper right corner. It's backlit, the trackpad supports multi-touch, and the keyboard has its own battery with a fairly long lifespan. these items are noticeably heavier than the bare iPad. My husband has an Apple Magic Keyboard for iPad, and this device is somewhat similar, except the Magic Keyboard connects directly to the tablet, is iPad-powered, and is slightly lighter. The Magic Keyboard does not have a backlight and has a number of additional keys, which is very convenient on the Air MAX+.
