So these are just simple lamps with a nice design for my needs. They are a thin metal structure of a stamped type. They are about an inch shorter than the advertised height so I am not really happy with this as I have a high bed and high nightstands and needed a slightly larger lamp than normal and ordered it due to the incorrect description. . The main description says 30 inches tall and the description below says 29. They are closer to 28.5 inches tall. I've looked online for options and I think some people just put books under their lamps or buy these blocks of wood that can be painted any color to elevate the lamps. I like her. They're supposed to be 3-position switches, but I don't know who the heck is going to use outdated 3-position bulbs. I use 60w LED bulbs and leave them in the switch position to allow my zwave, GE smart plug to control the on/off and dimming of the bulbs via the Samsung Smartthings settings. It's also voice controlled with my Revain Echo/Alexa on my bedside table. By the way, I also have an automation where these lamps start at 1 percent brightness at a certain time in the morning and increase the brightness to 20 percent within 5 or 10 minutes. Everything is set up via Samsung smartshtuk. I tried 100w LED bulbs and they worked great and were very bright. However, the darkest part was too bright so I use 60w LEDs. For one of the lamps, I wasn't impressed with the rubber foam material on the bottom of the metal lamp. It was too small in diameter and didn't properly protect the metal part from any surface that this lamp could be placed on. What to look out for if you have beautiful wood finishes and moving the lamp can cause scratches. It requires assembly which was fairly easy. The packaging is a headache with all the tape and pieces of white styrofoam lying all over the place. One of my shades had a few smudges of dark ink. Not thrilled about it but I turned them out of sight and they were small. I would most likely order them again if I needed more lamps. I visited a local hardware store and was not impressed with the selection and price. I'm just a single dad with no decorating skills and after not having lamps next to my bed for years I'm really glad I bought them. Having lamps on each side of the bed really changed the feel of the room and I wish I had bought lamps years ago. Voice control dimming makes them really handy. I just say "bright echo" or "dark echo" to turn them on or off.
