Great pocket watch - with one drawback: The rod to open the pocket watch does not stay in

My husband loved his pocket watch. It's the perfect size and has a lovely message on the front. The chain is also the perfect length. The only fault I have with this pocket watch is that the stem at the end that opens the pocket watch and changes the time keeps popping out. He doesn't stay in the watch anymore, so now he doesn't even use it anymore. It's on his dresser because he's afraid of carrying it with him and losing part of his suitcase as a result.
