Review on Dell SE198WFP: 19-Inch Flat Panel Wide Screen Monitor by Erik Bories

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I must say that I am completely satisfied with this purchase.

I bought this monitor in 2008 and after 8 years I have to say that I am completely satisfied with this purchase. Let me tell you what this monitor has been through in 8 years. 18+ moves (I made it to and from college 4 times a year and lived in 3 apartments after college). Every time I moved, I would pack this monitor in my suitcase and wrap it in clothes to protect it. It doesn't have a scratch on it. During all this time it almost did not need to be cleaned. That gave me zero problems. It works just as well as it did when it first started, although I haven't turned off this monitor more than 3 days a year for 8 years. I use my computer for personal use and as a TV so this poor thing is always on! Pros: Sturdy, durable, detachable base for easy travel, crisp picture (no pixelation), I frequently hit the HD button when playing videos. and even though I know this monitor is not HD, it gives me a sharp picture every time. Cons: It has a low contrast ratio. You need to adjust the light throughout the day, or if it's in a room with a lot of sunlight you need to try turning it off and keeping it in the shade so you can see everything with the right contrast.

Pros
  • SE198WFP
Cons
  • nutritional problems. If the monitor's power supply is not working properly, it may cause the display to flicker or turn off.
