Review on SPC Light Chipboard Sheets 12 x 12 Inches: A Package of 25 Tan-Chip-12-12 Sheets in Brown by Jennifer Roberts

Easy to cut, sturdier if you twist the fibers right

Thicker than 18 point chipboard and SLIGHTLY thicker than 20 point chipboard I've bought elsewhere before, but thin enough to to cut them easily. I use it as a light pad for small notebooks; it is flexible but offers little support. Works great with my rotary paper cutter (Akiles Roll-a-Blade), heavy duty binder (Akiles WireMac 21) and corner rounder (Lassco Wizer Cornerounder). I'm not sure if cheap corner rounders (like you find in Walmart's scrapbooking department) can cut through this chipboard, it might be too heavy for them, I haven't tested this (I threw away all my cheap corner rounders, because they don't work very well on anything heavier than cardboard printer paper, so I didn't have anything left to test). But my lasso cuts through this chipboard like butter. -------NOTE: ALL particle board has "fibers" which means it is stiffer in one direction and more flexible in the other direction (90 degrees). So when cutting chipboard, cut it so that the fibers provide stiffness in the direction that works best for your particular project - for my small notebooks, I prefer to run the fibers vertically (up and down). , which makes the finished product appear stiffer than if I cut the chipboard the other way around. I will be buying more of this particle board if needed - love the weight, although I ALSO like to use the thinner 18pt and 20pt chipboard for other projects. It's good to have chipboard of different weights depending on what you're doing. This chipboard is strong enough for light projects, but it is NOT a super heavy plywood, thick stuff like hardcover book spines.

Pros
