These bulbs are fine, but they're definitely not three times brighter than the bulbs they replaced. The amount of total light spread is about the same as older halogen bulbs towards the end of their life cycle (they lose brightness over time). If you look directly at the bulb it will appear brighter than a large halogen bulb where the light comes from the entire bulb as all the light comes from a very small LED panel. So it's a bit misleading. The total luminous flux corresponds roughly to that of a conventional halogen lamp, nothing more. It doesn't bother me much. I was hoping for more, but oh well. What disappointed me was the color of the light. Most halogen lamps are noticeably warm (yellowish light). They are AT LEAST on the other end of the spectrum, MUCH beyond pure white, and pretty far on the blue end of the spectrum. If that's what you want you'll be happy, but if you want pure white light you'll definitely be disappointed. I have HID xenon headlights and these bulbs make the pure white xenon headlights look yellow in comparison. It will be very difficult for you to match the color temperature with something else. If I had known they were that blue I wouldn't have bought them but not worth returning. But I wouldn't recommend them to anyone unless they're specifically trying to get an innovative blue light look.
