I thought it was the wrong part!

Just received my adapters. Works perfectly! The MacBook Air doesn't have many USB/Thunderbolt ports. Mine only had one. I bought an Ethernet adapter that also has 3 USB ports. I ordered this adapter so that I can connect charging cables and SD card readers to USB ports. Love it. while it works fine.
