Ideal for use on the knees; Cut a hole in the SD card slot if needed

I have an old Procase for the Samsung S3 tablet which I like so I decided to try one for the S7+. The way it's made is perfect for placing the tablet on my lap while sitting in my chair. With the completely rectangular lid becoming the base, the entire work sits very firmly on both hips. And of course it fits perfectly on a table or desk. It has two grooves for preset viewing angles, but there's enough friction on the grippy surface on the inside of the lid to set the desired angle between them. This is very useful when using a Zoom meeting tablet as it allows you to set a wider vertical angle so the camera can see you better. I use external microSD cards in the slots of my Samsung tablets and was a bit disappointed that there is no bay access hole like the previous one for my Tab S3. See photo, I was able to cut myself. The plastic is brittle, you have to work slowly. I used a small hobby saw to make short side cuts and then a utility knife to make cut lines on either side of the long piece to snap off the plastic tab. As you can see from my photo, the recording wasn't perfect because my scores weren't deep enough, but after a little extra work on the tiny file I had a perfectly usable notch for accessing the SD card slot. I don't use it very often, but since the tablet fits very snugly in the sleeve, it's a breeze to take it out and put it back in if you ever need to access the SD card in the compartment. I also really appreciate that they designed a special framed pen pocket next to the tablet screen. This will put the pen inside when you fold the case so you don't lose it. If you forget to put the stylus in the inner bezel pocket, you will lose it when you ship your tablet. In this position it does not load, but can be transported safely. This case is not designed to hold a tablet in portrait mode on your lap, but you can fold it into "portrait" mode and use the cushion underneath to use the S Pen in portrait mode very comfortably. In portrait format you can place it vertically on a table, which is not very practical given the viewing angle. Luckily, the multi-part design allows the entire body to fold onto the back of the tablet, turning it into a book, which I call "portrait". You can then prop the back up with something to get the right angle for games or apps that don't rotate to landscape mode. If you wish, you can hold the entire work in your hands like a book or a Kindle reader. It's too early to judge the durability of this device. The old Procase for my S3 tablet had a thin black vinyl finish that was beginning to peel on the outside edges and around the hinges. This S7+ block is made from a composite polymer that has no peelable coating. The turquoise color is nice, but the main hinge flexes a lot, and polymers that flex over and over again over the years don't always hold up. Time will tell, but for now it's lightweight and fairly functional.
