The assembly instructions were not step by step but step by step. It definitely has to fit together in a specific order that I've found. The key is to start from the top down. Attach the loop and rope holder to each side of the tote with the built-in bolt.2. Screw the long rope stand to one rung and the short rope stand to the other rung with a screw.3. Attach a short fluffy column to the base. There is only one place for a fluffy stick at the base.4. Attach the tier to the base with the short rope post and drape it over the short fluffy post from step 3.5. Insert a double-threaded screw into the pre-drilled hole from step 4 and attach the last short loop rod.6. Attach a tier to the base with a long rope post and fly to the fluffy pole from step 5.7. Take the bassinet assembly from the first step and attach it to the fluffy stand. It's a little bulky.8. Start with the bolt on the last long rope post, then thread the bolt through the tiny fluffy ring. Move the carrycot slightly so that you can screw this bolt/small ring into the bottom of the short rope post attached to the carrycot.9. Hang the carry bag and rope stand on the base and attach the last long rope stand to the base.10. Congratulations! Ready! The construction appears to be very solid. It stands approximately 27 inches from the bottom to the top of the tote bag. I have 2 cats, about 11 and 16 pounds. Each of them fits snugly but comfortably in the cradle.
