I had a travel steamer that I inherited and it never impressed me as it never produced enough steam. I bought this Conair steamer partly to work on a car project, but I also needed it at home. I am pleased to report that he has removed the creases from the curtains in our living room after a few passes with the steamer. They have always been difficult to iron because the creases tend to partially come back after ironing. With a steamer, the results are much better, wrinkles are almost non-existent. But with my peels it's a whole different story - a pass or two and wrinkles *disappeared*! And I don't even need it on the highest settings. I'll take it with me on my travels, but it's not a lightweight part, so it will add some weight to your luggage. (It's good for road trips, but you might want to think twice before packing for air travel.) I'd also take some purified water with me. I always use filtered water at home, but I can take a few bottles of Aquafina (which has been cleaned many times) with me when I travel to keep the steamer from calcifying. (And steam from hard water will stain your dark clothes.) So yes, I highly recommend this steamer.
